Two weeks ago I had to find a school in which to study Spanish. I read many blogs on the internet and eventually I chose Valencia and Taronja school. It was a great idea!
The city is very nice, not as much as Barcelona, but the atmosphere is better and people are kinder and speak Spanish. There are many historical buildings, seaside and beach. It is the city of paella and fideua´, one of my favorite food. Valencia is also the city of beards, I had never seen so many boys with a beard as I did here.
The first week I learned about Valencia typical food and I also participated in the language exchange. Last Thursday it was the Valencian Community day and I assisted to a pyrotechnic show, to the Mascleta´, to the typical dance in Plaza de la Virgen and also to the Moors and Christians procession. I watched the Corrida too, a fun yet cruel show.
It´s an anachronism, there were old men with their wives and tourists. Many girls left before the show was over. On Saturday I went to Cheste, where I ate an excellent paella made by chef Nando. I drank many gin and tonic as well..
Taronja school organizes many activities. I studied a lot and I learned a lot. Teachers were professionals and great people ( boys want a beard too!). They always help students if they have questions. Every teacher has their own teaching method and it´s a good thing that every week the groups switch teachers.
