Sara

Sara Cavallini student september 2012 In May I had only one wish: to spend the summer holidays in Spain. I wanted to practice the language, meet new friends and have a good time. I chose Valencia as my destination because I wanted to visit a city close to the Mediterranean Sea, and because a friend of mine advised me to go to this city. Then, I decided me for Taronja because my hope was raised by the amount of offered extracurricular activities and due to the fact that it was a school that could foster friendships for its family atmosphere. All in all I spent four fun weeks of my life here and all my expectations had been exceeded. I had the opportunity to visit two great cities (Madrid and Barcelona), to participate in a crazy event, the Tomatina, to learn how to cook for example delicacies of Elche and the Spanish kind of omelette, dancing on the beach under the stars with young people from other schools and to learn a lot of idioms. But what I will always remember most is the heat and the availability and sympathy of all teachers. All this and more at Taronja, a family that has impacted me. See you soon Taronja!

Hello my name is Jasmine. I’m from Hong Kong. I’ve studied psychology at the University of Kong Hong. I love the culture of Spain, especially the history, food and tourism. I enjoy reading books and playing hockey in free time. I always travel to Spain because I love the beaches. I would like to go to Barcelona or Valencia to study. I chose Valencia because it is very traditional and is the home of paella. Iwanted to experience Spanish life here. Also, Fernando has visited Hong Kong University to talk to students, a year ago, so I had to come to Taronja School this summer. The teachers are friendly and the classes are interesting. I liked the Paella Party and partying a lot because I was able to meet new friends and experience typical activities here. They are very funny! I enjoyed these 3 weeks in Valencia and at Taronja School. I think I speak and read Spanish better now. Thanks, teachers and friends!

Hello! My name is Adele and I am 17 years old. I am French and from la isla de la reunion. I was a student at the Taronja School for 2 weeks. It was a great experience! I’ve went to Taronja to improve my Spanish and to prepare an exam. The courses are very good and the teachers are very fun. I found that I preferred the multitude of teachers I had at Taronja, everyone was always happy and also the activities. The activity that I liked the most was paella on Monday night. On this night you can meet new people and eat good paella from the famous Chef Nando. Valencia is a very nice city with a very nice historic center. The beach and its pesto are the best bits of Spain. My 2 weeks in Valencia were really fun. My dream is to return to Valencia next year. Thank you to the school! Thank you, see you soon!

Rike

Rike Bastian student september 2012 Hallo! I liked a lot my vacation in Valencia! I also think that the Spanish school improved my Spanish – in all cases I think the Spanish teachers are very motivated and ambitious in teaching us. They have good ideas to sustain attention during these four hours! And above that they have helped me to accomodate my daughter – Thank you! I also liked the beach, the city centre and the IVAM, especially Mar Solí. See you next year?

Hi, I’m Mariajo, yes like garlic, though it has nothing to do with that, but my full name is Maria José. I’m a Spanish teacher of the school and I graduated in Spanish Philology. I did a professional training for teaching at the Spanish school and then I was teaching already. I love being a Spanish teacher. I learn many things from other countries while I teach my language and my culture. As for my hobbies, I really like the countryside, but I never say no to a good beach day. I like extreme sports, I love motorbikes and occasionally I pick up a good book and lose myself in it: daydreaming. I hope to see you soon at the Spanish school!

Pierre Luigi

Pierre Luigi Cruccu student september 2012 Hello everybody! I’m Pier Luigi but you can call me Gigi, I’m Italian and I am from Sardinia. I’m studying INEF and I love languages, I like sports and also traveling. I’m holding a scholarship from university in order to study a language in a foreign country. I did not know where to go, then I was looking to study a language in another country, there was also a very funny video. I have never been to Spain before and I think Valencia is a very cool city to study and live, the weather is good, people are very friendly and it has a great beach where you can do sports and meet new people to speak Spanish and have a drink (beer, sangria, tinto de verano, etc.). I liked the school activities like the Paella Party and the Tomatina, the Spanish professors, people who were studying there, Taronja Home and everything else. I think this is the best Spanish School in Valencia because you can quickly learn the Spanish language and have fun. I fell for Valencia and I think I will come back here again.

Hello Taronja! What’s up? I’m Simone Eringfeld and I was studying Spanish in Valencia last February at Taronja school. I would like to tell you how Taronja has inspired me in my life, and say ‘thank you very much’ again! Thanks to my teachers Víctor and Luis, I passed with a B1 level with very good grades! One of the things I really liked were the activities of Taronja, especially the Tandem coffee in the language of Xuiqi Lobera, on Tuesdays. I made many friends there, with whom I practiced my Spanish very well! In March I was back in Holland, Breda, and felt that there was a Language Cafe missing and I missed it very much. Why not start one here? There are many international students and others in my town, who are interested too, so I founded the first coffee place of languages in the Netherlands, called TALK OF THE TOWN! www.facebook.com / LCBtalkofthetown The ‘Grand Opening’ of TALK OF THE TOWN will be on 25th September. The Councillor for Education will open the official, first coffee and then there will be a party with the band ‘the stars’! From 25th September there will be Talk of the Town event every Tuesday. If anyone is ever in Breda, it would be wonderful if youw ould visit my coffee place for languages (I know that Fernando wanted to visit Breda again, and my school too: D. I do not know if that’s still true???! You are invited! regards, Simone Eringfeld
