Bibiána

Bibiana ZathureckaI really enjoyed these 2 weeks in Valencia. I studied in Taronja School for the 4. time. I learned a lot during the classes and also outside of the classes. It turned out that the school had a lot of activities, I liked especially the «tour de tapas». Suddenly I had some friends in Valencia and we often met for some drinks or for dancing Salsa. It sure was a wonderful experience. Repitition please! Bibiána

Arnaud

playaHi everyone. My name’s Arnaud. I’m 33 years old, French, and I’ve been working for a year as a French teacher in Switzerland. I really like Taronja school here in Valencia The school is located and organized perfectly. It’s very close to the old city. The teachers (and the administrators!) are very kind and available when you need them. The school day is planned out very well. Each day we have classes from 9 to 12.40, with one break from 10.40 to 11am. Right everyone, excuse me, but I’m off to the beach! ^^, P.S: Do you know the difference between ‘tengo calor’ and ‘estoy caliente’? No? Well come to Taronja School to find out!

Don and Betty

spanish-courses-valencia-hawleyDear Marta,
We want you and all of our teachers (Alex, Victor, Carlos, and Lara) to know how very much we appreciate the excellent learning experience we found at Taronja Spanish school.  For us, Taronja was the school where we wanted to go every day.  One where the teachers and staff were enthusiastic, focused, prepared, and positive in their approach.  One where social/cultural activities were well integrated into the school experience.
In other words, a very rewarding experience for us!
We want to say «good bye» to our classmates, Royer, Jingee, Emma, and Eva.  What a fantastic group of co-conspirators!  What a fun group!
Thanks for everything!

Like going to swim in the sea, walking from the beach

The water starts shallow and warm. The soft, golden sands, oozing between your toes. It’s easy; «Hola, dos cervezas por favor». You look around – the crowd wets its feet. You feel good. You’re one of the team. But you yearn to swim. Still deeper you push, the water cools. Whoosh, a wave knocks you back! Progress becomes «dura». A sea breeze brings goosebumps; your first verb «tener» – but wait, what’s this? «tengo»… And more, a veritable chill wind. To turn back or move on? Behind, the «loco» cackle of the hoards busy at the bars. But to swim. That luscious blue sea. That’s where you belong, you can feel it… Whoosh! Ouch ouch ouch. What was that? A sharp stone, a crustacean or… a reflexive that bit you and shot away?   Onwards. This water is «ca, cu, que, co»…. COLD! Whoosh! And your balance is tested. A breaker wave? Or a definite article? But the confusing feeling of an (m) and an (f),coming thick, fast and with dizzying, percussive frequency. Whoosh! Push on, you’ll get it you’re sure. Look to the deep blue sea ahead. How close it seems. Whoosh! Yet, it also does not feel so close, these waves beating you backwards. Behind in the distance, they all seem so happy in the shallows. But, they’re not swimming? Their voices have faded, so who can tell anyway? Whoosh! Damn, that seaweed has your leg entangled. Subjunctively. Subjunctively twisted in knots of logic. Whoosh! To go further, to go deeper… you need a guide. A reassuring helping hand. To be assisted by the sage, with their intoxicating knowledgable enthusiasm. Your swimming instructor friends, at Taronja. Whoosh! The guide now pulls you along. Steering you; through the shoals, the rocky seabeds, against the pounding, protesting waves of grammatical intricacies. All the while, visible above the waterline the fun and enjoyment of each others company. The sea deepens and finally welcomes you. Engulfing and embracing you, the waves no longer crash and beat. You have reached that «profundidad»and begun to swim. Through continual learning the ocean can take you to magical places, people and… life. «Bienvenido amigo» Whooooosh! Another language beckons!

Verena

Verena Bender alumna febrero 2013 I’ve loved Valencia, and the people of Taronja School. The teachers in the school are very fun and young. The atmosphere in the school is great, I liked it very much and I studied more than I expected to. I had fun living with other students living in Taronja home as well. The activities were excellent, especially the Language Exchange. I don’t want anything to be changed. This will not be my last time in Valencia. See you soon.

Donato

Donato Simonelli alumno febrero 2013Hola, I’m Donato, I do not speak Spanish very well, I’m 32 years old and I work in Italy. I have been at this school for one week and I have liked it a lot and I also loved going out eating Tapas. Valencia is a very fun city and I hope to return soon… At Taronja Spanish School I met people from around the world and I hope to see them again. It was a great experience, and I thank Victor and Ana for their kindness. I end by wishing everybody a happy life.

Josephine

Josephine Gervasini alumna febrero 2013My name is Josephine and I’m 20 years old. I live in Switzerland. I’ve had two very fun weeks here and I have learned a lot. I loved the activities and the teachers are very nice. I don’t want to go back to Switzerland and leave Valencia behind.

Baptiste

Baptiste Poyet alumno febrero 2013Arriving at a city in a foreign country is not that easy, but thanks to all the people at Taronja Spanish School, I have to say that we felt like we were at home. In the two weeks here, I have not missed my home. It is like a family here, everyone is very friendly. If I had doubts, everything was sorted out in very short time. The school offers a lot of different activities; they organization of them perfectly and they allow us to spend time with people from all around the world. About the school, I don’t have more to say other than that the level of the Spanish classes is very good. We discussed various topics, which allowed us to talk a lot and also to open ourselves up for other cultures, which is worth a fortune.

Valencia is a great city, I have had great three month here! Taronja is a modern school with qualified and funny teachers, nice interns and clearly also other students. There are many activities for the students – almost every day and my «Spanish family» was the best I could have imagined and I think I will return from time to time to visit them! A hug to all at Taronja! Raoul

Hi I’m Lisa! I am American but I live in Switzerland, Geneva. This is my first visit in Valencia and I like it a lot. The city is very beautiful and has many different things to see and enjoy, for example the ‘silk market’ and ‘the city of arts and sciences’. The contrast between the old and the new parts of the city is very interesting for me and I have taken many photos to share with my family and friends. I was at Taronja School only for one week, but I like the Spanish classes and activities. The Spanish school is really different from others. I think the staff of Taronja School puts a lot of effort to arrange whole experiences for students. The teachers are young and hip, and classes are also modern and fun.

It is the first time I’m in Valencia and I have to say that this city has delighted me. From a cultural point of view it has a lot to offer, because I found many museums and historical sites to visit. On the other hand, Valencia is a city that surely also offers the possibility to have fun and relax. The beach for example is very nice and for me it was a place where I could relax and get away from the movement of the city center. And that only 10 minutes away by metro! (in fact, if you are in the city center, you could never tell that Valencia is a city of the sea!). As for my experience, with Taronja School I am very very pleased and satisfied: I learned a lot, I could improve my grammar and also my expressive abilities. Through the many discussions we’ve always had in Spanish class I have learned a lot of new words and expressions. Talking with my classmates and discuss current issues with them has for me been, the best thing to practice Spanish (because I got in touch with people coming from all over the world and with who I shared the Spanish language as a fact we had in comun) and also to enrich my vocabulary. However, for me, Valencia has not been represented only by the Spanish school and the culture, but also by the family I lived with during these weeks. I got along very well with my new Spanish family and their three wonderful children, indeed there house, but for me it has almost been a home. Unfortunately my experience here is going to end tomorrow, but I already want to come back to Valencia to enjoy more this wonderful city has to offer me and of course I would also love to return toTaronja School because I can always improve my Spanish level.Thank you all, thank you all very much!
