LICEO LINGUISTICO DE VARESE

valenciaelmigueleteHi everyone! We are four 18 years old girls from Italy. We have been here for one week and we love this wonderful city! Of Valencia we liked above all the fact that it’s not too big but that it still has a lot to offer. We visited almost everything: the city of arts and of science, the «casco antiguo», the Bioparc and we climbed the Miguelete. We also went to the beach (caution, the sun burns here!) and tried many tipical things of Valencia: the Paella, the Sangría, the tapas, the horchata con fartón. The school was also very funny, with many activities, and the teachers are fantastic: Víctor and Mariajo. In a few hours we will go back home but… this experience will stay in our hearts! 🙂 Many kisses, Spanish Barbara, Ilaria, Vittoria, Alessia     imagen591p Hey there! We are Martina, Sara and Michela. We are 18 years old. We have been here in Valencia for one week (what a pity!), however we had a great time! We visited the Miguelete, the casco antiguo, the city of arts and sciences (which we really liked!), the Bioparc and had a little rest at the beach (caution! The sun burns!) We also tried something tipical of Valencia, like for example the Tapas, the Orxata, the Sangría and the Paella of Nando (how tasty!). At Taronja everyone was always very likeable and capable, the teachers – Víctor and Mariajo – were terrific! We will miss this incredible school very much! Big kisses =) =) Martina, Sara, Michela   Hi! We are Eleonora, Roberta and Anastasiya; we are 18 years old and are Italians. We have been here for one week and we had a great time. We MIGUELETE 080love this city and we visited everything: we’ve seen the Miguelete and climbed to the very top, how hard was that! We also visited the whole city of arts and sciences where we watched the dolphin show. And at the end we went to the Bioparc, which amazed us. But we didn´t have any time to shop and to burn ourselves at the beach! Taronja School gave us the opportunity to try many Spanish things like that at our last day with the Sangría, the Tapas and the horchata con fartones. The yoghurts helped us at the free evenings, we recommend you to try it, it’s very close to Taronja School! Hugs and kisses from Italy, Eleonora, Roberta y Anastasija

Valencia, How beautiful!

SAM_857701 Hi boys and girls of the world!

We are Vicky, Anna, Viki and Veronika. We’re 17 years old and Austrian. Today is the 3rd May (2013) and we have been in Valencia for 6 days. Today is our last day of Spanish classes.

Valencia is a beautiful city where there are a lot of shops to buy clothes, bags, shoes and more. There’s not only a great variety to choose from to shop – there’s also many interesting places to visit, for example, the Fallas Museum, the Bioparc (an incredible zoo), la Plaza de la Reina, and the Oceanografico, which is in the ‘ciudad de las artes y las ciencias’. What’s more, we went on a tapas tour, and went to a ‘Paella Party’ – YUM!

We loved the beach too.

We’re going to try two things that are typically Valencian: churros and horchata!

Kisses from Valencia,

Niki, Viki, Anna y Veronika

copia-de-dsc07685-240xXx80Valencia – what a beautiful city! Our journey lasted 9 days and we had a blast. In the mornings we went to school (Taronja). The classes were really fun and our teachers (Victor and Mariajo) were really kind, too.

What’s more, we went sightseeing and visited all the most incredible monuments and buildings of the city.

On the “Tapas Tour”, we enjoyed typical Spanish food. We especially enjoyed visiting the “Oceanografico” and “la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias”.

We recommend the school and the city to everyone!

Stefan, Nox, Lucas, Peker

Hi everyone!

We’re Sophia, Laura, Anna, Lena and Sabrina, and we live in Austria.

We loved this past week. Valencia is a lovely city with a lot of great shops, modern barns and old buildings. There’s also a park called Turia.

At the start of the week we went on a Tapas Tour, on Tuesday we went to a ‘Paella party’ and then we went for a few drinks. On Wednesday we visited the marvellous «Oceanografico» and then la «Ciudad de las Ciencias». Fortunately the weather was good and warmer than the days beforehand.

We also went to the beach, but only Laura likes the sea.filename-valencia-2012

Another day we went to the Bioparc, which is a zoo with a lot of animals from different contients.

Wednesday was the only day we didn’t go to school. The teachers were very nice, and the classes were fun.

Kisses from Valencia,

The most beautiful girls <3

One week in VALENCIA!

Buigen Gynasium, Germany

resizer.phpWe experienced a lot of things in Valencia, but the weather wasn’t good. Such a pity! All the families were kind and it was very interesting to get to know how Spanish people live.

The food and cleanliness were good. We got to know a lot of people and made new friends. We also liked having free time because there are a lot of shops. Also, the activities were more or less good; our guide Marta was very kind and told us lots of stuff about the city. The teachers of Taronja were great, especially Victor and Carlos. Thanks for everything.

Anja, Franzi,  Lisa, Jorgo

Our week in Valencia has been quite nice, even though the weather was veryyyy bad. It rained loads and it was very cold. The activities were quite interesting, but boring at times because we were on our feet all the time. The classes were good because the subjects were interesting, and our discussions were cool too. We liked the teachers (Carlos and Maria Jose) – they are kind and relaxed.

=)

We liked Taronja School and the teachers. The activities were nice but at times a bit boring. The weather was really bad. What a shame! The families were nice and the houses and rooms were clean. The food was really good! In general we like Valencia and the week we spent there.

Jenny Brauning, Tina Straud

Valencia seems like a really pretty city… it’s just such a shame that the weather has been so bad! Even though it was raining, we’ve had a great week and learnt loads. In the classes we had long, we had deep, profound discussions. In general you could say that the activities were interesting and with if the weather was better, for sure! In conclusion, the week was a great experience.

Natalia Weber, Carina Pfeifer

First of all we would like to say that the weather wasn’t good, but we still had a great time, especially in school. The teachers were really nice and taught us with good methods. We talked about current affairs and watched a lot of videos. We did a lot of activities such as visiting museums or the city and its monuments together as a group. Our whole time here was really fun. We liked Valencia a lot.

Martine, Luisito, Sherine

The week in Valencia was nice, because we learnt a bit about the Spanish culture. But the weather was horrible; it rained almost every day and so we didn’t really feel up to doing anything and we couldn’t enjoy our trip.

We also didn’t really like that we had classes in the afternoons. But even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we had a great time.

Cardine & Anneli

paella-e-frutti-di-mare   Hey! We’re from the south of Germany and we were in Valencia for a week. Taronja School was really good and we liked the classes. Our teacher were really kind and helped us a lot with our Spanish.

The majority of the activities were great. We went to the beach, to museums, to the Mercado central, and to other interesting places. We also went to some activities at night, such as karaoke, paella, and flamenco.

But unfortunately it rained a lot and it was very cold.

It was great living with a Spanish family and we got to taste typical Spanish food.

Overall the week was a unique adventure!

Hey! We’re from Germany. We were in Valencia for a week. The weather wasn’t good but the families were really nice, as were the activities. Also, the school and the classes were really original and interesting. We had the chance to get to know a new and different culture. In general the week in Valencia was great and one of the best weeks of our lives. We recommend the school.

Lea Mack, Laura, Sophie renner, Mario Ekhmann, Leni Humberg, Fabian Vost

Good morning, we’re students from Germany and we have spent the last week in Valencia. We saw a large part of the city of Valencia. We liked the city but the weather wasn’t good. L To start the week, we went to have paella. So yummy! In our free time we visited the football stadium and the city. We hope that our luggage aren’t going to be too heavy – because the girls used the breaks to go shopping!

The teachers in Taronja are really kind. Now we are more confident. The families were really kind, too. It was a marvellous week. We’ll never forget this week we spent with our friends.

Thanks very much!

Taronja is SUPER COOL

DULWICH COLLEGE, UNITED KINGDOM

Dulwich

To begin with, what I liked most has been the amazing weather. Next, the quality of the shops. The food was also a new and different experience. We had the chance to play sports likefootball, volleyball, cycling and even some ‘pilota valenciana’. We really liked the atmosphere in the evening in the bars and watching football matches whilst drinking a beer. One day we went to the beach and ate sandwiches that we brought from home. So good! The park in the centre of the city is a bit empty, there was a lot of space to walk. It was heavenly! Valencia is a city that’s definitely worth it. You have to visit it.

Tommy, Larry, Felix, Josh, Jack, Alex, Jack

I really like Valencia and Taronja. The teachers are super cool and useful. I’ve had a really fun and hilarious week, thanks to everyone involved. The activities organised were really interesting and the weather was incredible.

Tom Beluga

  • I love Botellon!
  • I have a terrible hangover
  • I like girls
  • Chef Nando!
  • The teachers are SUPER COOL

Valencia is a great city. The people are kind and helpful. There’s lots to do and I was never bored. What’s more, I really liked the cultural exchange between London and Valencia.

Sam

I’ve had a great week. The family I stayed with were incredible. Pure love.

Toby Wells

Valencia is a pretty city. The school is fantastic. The teachers were very helpful but at the same time really fun. My Valencian family were fantastic, the mother was really kind and the conversations with the children were really helpful for my Spanish.

The first day we arrived with my family at eight o’clock. We had a small plate of paella, we sat ourselves down for a while and then we went to bed. The best part was the science museum where we had a lot of interactive activities. The worst part was that we got woken up by the alarm of Izul.

Courtney Ihezie, Evan McKellouu

In my opinion, Valencia is very beautiful because it is very big and the people are nice. During the week, we went to the beach and played football, but it was very difficult! Besides, we went to oceanographico, it was very fun. Yesterday, we visited the science museum. Today, later we go the biographic park. It was awesome!

Hi, we’re James and Jaymee. We’ve been in Valencia for three days and it’s been really good. We went to the Taronja School, and it’s better than school in London. It’s really hot in Valencia and there are loads of shops. This school is better at teaching Spanish than our school in England. They explain things more simply at this school. We would love to live in Valencia.

James and Jaymee

Hi. I’m Nikhil and I go to Taronja School. In Valencia I like the beach, because it’s very sunny. I don’t want to come back to Valencia because London is more fun than Valencia. In London I speak English.

Valencia, a beautiful city! (Keynes Group)

Museo_falleroKEYNES GROUP, ITALY

Hi everyone!

We are a group of 7 people that spent a wonderful week at Taronja, the most beautiful school in Valenia. we have learnt a lot of new things thanks to the fun activities and also thanks to the nice and available professors.

Some Valencian families took us in, and none of us would complain! Thanks to them we learned some of the costumes most used in Spain.

From Monday until Friday we visited the entire city: the old centre and the modern city, some museums like the tourism museum, fallero museum which we like a lot, where you see a passion which is growing in popularity every year. A big thanks to everyone who made this week possible! We want to return and repeat this experience. Thank you! Holaaa! Kisses

Rossana Omodei, Maria Denice, Llaria Giacon

Hi Taronja!SAM_574101blog

We are italian people who stayed in Valencia for one week. We learnt a lot of spanish costumes and we visited the city in different places. We liked the Oceanografico and the cooking class of Fernando, where we learnt to make seafood paella. The only negative thing was the Flamenco night because we wanted to see a girl dance instead of a guy. We would like to return here.

Till soon!

Greta, Miriana, Clara and Daviole

Valencia is a very beautiful city, people are very open and friendly, especially the family we stayed at. There are a lot of shops and restaurants, a lot of things to visit. For example: the fallero museum, oceanografic, casco antiguo, mercado central. After having cooked with Fernando (very nice!) tuesday, we went to eat paella but the place was not very nice, the paella was though! It was amazing. The food for us is very good. The professors are very open, friendly and nice (good looking as well). We would like to return to Valencia.

Miriam Sadi, Marta Taravgno

Very nice, full of color and good! (Taronja)

Valencia is a very beautiful city and with a lot of colors. I liked it a lot; the family is very good and hospitable. The food was very good as well! I liked the Flamenco a lot!

Francesca Graziosi and Natalia Kostiuk

Valencia is perfect! What I liked the most was Oceanografico and the family I lived with. I would like to return some time. The school is very beautiful and creative! I like the way they teach and so did Francesca. The people are very sympathetic and nice. The food and the drinks that we tried were the paella (was very good) and sangria (also good). But the thing that I don’t like is the bull fight! Thanks for everything.

Natalia and Francesca

Valencia is a very beautiful city because it has a lot of interesting places like: the Oceanografico, the modern city, the fallero museum and all the squares that we liked a lot. We ate paella for the first time and we loved it. The school is very fun because it has a lot of colors. The professors are fun and sympathetic but most of all nice! We learnt a lot of words and the activities were fun. The families were open and supportive. We would like to meet again in Valencia! -Ferederica

The museum taurino has been disgusting because we didn’t like the killing!

A perfect week…

INSTITUTO TECNICO COMERCIALE A.MARTINI, ITALIA This week in Valencia has been great! The city is great, there are many interesting places to visit, such as the Oceanografico, Albufera, the Park de Turia, the city centre, museums, and the beach. We also visited some fallas, saw some of the lights and listened to some music in Calle Sueca and Literato Azorin. We loved the Mascleta, and how everyone would run to see it, even though the sound was loud enough to disturb our class. The activities organised by the school were very interesting and fun, especially when we went out on the streets to speak with the people! Valencian’s are very open and friendly! At night, we oceonblog partied a lot, finding new places and really good-looking guys. It was very nice staying with the family, and we felt at home. It has been a fun week, filled with activities, but: our legs and feet hurt a lot! We would like to come here again. Alessia, Angelica, Viviana, Marico Valencia… what to say about Valencia? When we got here, it seemed a sad city to us because it was grey, cold and bucketing down with rain. But when the sun came out, we saw the real city: the happy, warm, friendly, welcoming people… We felt at home! Incredible experiences we will never forget. The bullfight, the fallas, the mascleta, the partying, drinking agua de Valencia or a few beers with tapas. Also, the classes in school were really interesting and fun, thanks to Victor, Alex and Jenny. They made us laugh so much! Thanks also to Marta who taught us loads about the city. We will miss Valencia for sure! Ilenia, Martine, Andrea, Anna This week was amazing. What we liked most in Valencia were the fiestas. The decorations, the lights, the fallas, the mascots, the people on the streets, the food, the ‘botellón’ at night… We loved the city for its historic monuments, Turia’s riverbed and for ‘la ciudad de las artes y las ciencias’. The panoramic view of the city that was had from the Miguelete was also a previous sight, because we could see the sea from one side and mountains on the other. We discovered lots about cute animals in the oceanografico. The dolphin show was the most fun. We spent an amazing week with our Spanish families, who were hospitable and kind with us. Our teachers in Taronja, Alex and Victor, taught us Spanish in a fun way and Marta, our guide, was really kind as well. Serena, Mirela, Alice, Alex What we liked most about Valencia was the Oceonagrafico and the bullfighting. We went to Albufera and the beach by boat, and we also visited the ‘Museo Fallero’, the ‘Museo Taurino’ and ‘la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias’. The city seems very big and beautiful. We loved the pubs and the ‘Las Animas de Puerto’ club. The classes were interesting and the teachers really kind. The first few days the weather was awful, but then it became sunny. The family that we stayed with were very hospitable, funny and kind, and we got on very well. Also, the food was very good, for example the paella. Claudia, Elena, Elisa, Giorgie

Valencia, I love you!

Hello! We are a group of students from the Notre Dame school in Paris. We have spent a wonderful week at Taronja School in the city of Valencia during the month of February and this is all we think about, the experience we hope to repeat in future. Long live Taronja! Raphaelle: I love Valencia. It is a great town with pretty boys, fantastic shopping and very nice and fun people. But the best thing is to walk through this wonderful city that has very beautiful monuments like the Estación del Norte (train station), the Cathedral, the Central Market and the Silk Exchange Building. Nina: I liked this trip to Valencia because I love the lifestyle of the Spanish. Infact, thanks to good weather and good temperatures people go out at night. I’m crazy about going to Spain! Guillaume: I like Valencia because it is a very nice city. The weather is nice and the people are friendly. This city is fun because it has a wonderful beach, the Oceanografic and many activities for tourists. Valencia is an unforgettable city. Corentin: Valencia is a beautiful city. When we arrived at TARONJA the Spanish teachers were very good to us. It was hot during the week. We hope to return to Valencia. Lola: I’ve loved this trip to Spain because the weather has been very good and it has been hot. The Spanish are fun, friendly and very generous. During this week we went to the Fallas Museum and we walked along the old river. Melissa: The best of Valencia are the stores that are cheaper than in France. Furthermore Valencian people are very friendly and the boys are very handsome. Manon: Valencia is calling me. It is a very beautiful city. It is very hot and the weather is good. People are friendly. I love the monuments. We could take a walk in the modern part of the city. Guirec, Kanto and Maria: I enjoyed this week. Spain is great! Actually, the food is very good, the people are very friendly, the scenery is very beautiful. We have seen many things like the Fallas Museum, which is very interesting and of course the Turía Gardens. We also went shopping. It was so cheap! From time to time, we studied to prepare us for the DELE (Spanish official examination). Penelope, Alice and Clémentine: The trip to Valencia was very interesting. We stayed one week. In the morning, we had classes with Adela and Carlos (very nice!). We did DELE exercises and, of course, we played games which was fun. Moreover, in the afternoons we visited the city and did various activities, for example did we go to the Fallas Museum and to up the Miguelete. Spanish food was delicious. We liked a lot Tapas and Churros with Chocolate. At the end of the day,we came home to our Spanish «parents» who have been very good with us. We hope to return soon to Valencia in order to enjoy the sun and the beautiful city. Olivier and Louis: Our trip to Valencia was incredible. It is much hotter than in Paris. But we spent a lot of time in school, preparing us for the DELE exam. We also have done other things: we went to the beach, the Fallas Museum. We also chose the best Ninot (Fallas doll) for this year. It was fun. The school is very well located, close to the Old Town. So we could walk there a lot during the lunch break. We have tried the Horchata in a coffee shop near the Miguelete.

Valencia: Paella, Beach and Sun

This Sunday we have come to Valencia. We love the weather because it has about 25 degrees more than in Austria. The first destination was the Spanish School «Taronja», where we met our Spanish mothers. After relaxing a bit we did a walk through the Old Town. On Monday we went to the beach where we had to answer some questions. We ate our picnic and then we went to school and had our first Spanish class. In the afternoon we went shopping and almost all the girls bought shoes 🙂 On Tuesday morning we visited the Central Market, which was very impressive. Then we had a cooking class, where we saw how to prepare Paella, Patatas Bravas, Allioli and Sangía, which we later ate at school. It was very delicious! Later we had Spanish class and had dinner at home. On Wednesday we walked around the‘The City of Arts and Sciences‘ and we walked along the beautiful River Turía. There we visited the Science Museum, where we saw many interesting things. There were many experiments and cute chicks. Then we went to the beach. On Thursday we went to the Old Town, where we saw the Miguelet, the Cathedral, the Old University and the Silk Exchange Building. Moreover we tried Churros with Chocolate, which were very good, but it was too much chocolate. At night we visited the Corte Inglés (spanish department store) and then we went to a bar. Today is Friday, the most fun day. We visited the Oceanografic, which is very impressive. We have seen many types of fish, beluga whales, sharks and a lot more. In the end we were fascinated by the great dolphin show. Now we‘re having the last Spanish class.

Italy conquers Valencia

In Valencia we have seen many things this week, for example the first day at school in the morning we met our professor named Victor. In the afternoon we visited the Cathedral of Valencia and after that we ate Churros with Chocolate, which tasted good. The next day at the Spanish School we learned verbs, colors, food, numbers, addresses and family members. On Wednesday we went to the Central Market where we saw many food stores such as butchers, fruits, etc.. Then we went to school and we have helped preparing the Paella with Chef Nando. After that we went to the Fallas Museum, where we saw the winning Fallas sculptures of past years and we went to the Turía Park. We also visited the Bullfight Museum, where we saw a film of a bullfight, bullfighter figures and embalmed bulls. On Thursday we went to a coffee shop called Starbucks and ate chocolate, donuts, frappuccino, etc.. Then we visited the Muvim where we saw a show treating topics from medieval to modern times. At night we went to the ‘Plaza de la Reina’ (Queen’s Square) to meet up with everybody and have dinner… Finally, on Friday in class we played a game in the streets, for which we had to take pictures, ask people for information and we have bought gifts or souvenirs, etc. Later we’re going to the port and we’re going to buy more souvenirs. Tonight we’ll go to see a flamenco show.   In short, it was an unforgettable experience. The most beautiful place for us has been the Turía Park because it is very large and there is a lot of nature. Due to the Spanish classes we were able to communicate with Spanish people, who are very open-minded and sociable. I hope to return to Spain and repeat this experience. Thanks to Taronja School and especially to our teacher Víctor!

Rice Town

We are a very fun and varied class. We are all Europeans. We’re German, Swiss and Greek. The teacher ‘acts like a goat’ and doens’t want to correct this text. We are here because we like Spain. But the things that impress us are, for example, original rice and rice-addicted people. The differences in between Spain and our countries are firstly the weather and secondly the food. For example, in Switzerland there is food with more sauce but less rice. In Valencia people eat rice all the time. Rice for breakfast, rice in coffee and also houses are made out of rice. Sometimes it seems like China and not Valencia. Therefore are a lot of Japanese and Chinese tourists here. The ‘Arrocianos’ (‘rice eaters’) are not very social…After two weeks your glad that you can return to your country and stop eating rice. They’re boring, they are very uncommunicative and do not know the word »party». Always insult foreigners because they do not eat rice…In addition, most of the people are very tall because they eat a lot of rice. The ‘Arrocianos’ are consuming a lot of cocaine made out of rice and are smoking the rice plant. In the bullring arena the Toreros die all the time because they are high. There are no major sports. Just playing soccer with rice. They do not know how to play football or basketball or anything else. The ‘Arrocianos’ are very tall because they eat too much rice. There are no old people in the city because they are working outside the city to get more rice. Life at Taronja Spanish School is very boring. The worst Spanish teacher of the school is called Dario «Rice» Sanchez. He is a very sad guy because he has a rice allergy. Therefore his life is not very easy. But he can smoke rice and nothing will happen because the amount is less. In the end there is a possibility that Valencia gains the Rice Trophy! We found out that the previous original name of Valencia was ‘Arroceria’ (Rice Town). TU CHE!

Taronja School: Experience in Valencia

On Sunday we arrived in Valencia. Then we met the families. Our mother’s name is Mary. She is a very kind, friendly and communicative person. There is plenty of food and therefore we are never hungry. Since Monday we have to go to Spanish classes which last four hours. We also went to the beach, the Old Town, the Central Market, the Miguelete and shopping. The Paella we ate at the Spanish School and restaurants was very good. On Wednesday we visited ‘The City of Arts and Sciences’. The Science Museum is very impressive. We loved the beach and the Old Town. In the afternoon we went to the beach for a picnic with our girls. It was a blast. On Thursday we visited the Old Town. First we went to the Town Hall Square. After that we ate Chocolate con Churros which we like very much. Then we saw the Cathedral and its doors. We also saw the figures of the Silk Exchange Building and had to laugh. In the afternoon we went shopping. On Friday we visited the Oceanografic. It is very interesting and wonderful. The animals are very affectionate. We saw a dolphin show which was fun.

Lisa and Joana

————————————————————————–   After arriving we met our Spanish mothers. In the afternoon we saw the Old City with the Spanish teachers. On Monday morning we played at the beach, which was very nice. As every day we, went to school in the afternoon. After Spanish class, we met in front of the school, to go to a restaurant, where we ate a very good Paella. The next day we visited the big market with its variety of colors and scents. In the afternoon we had a Spanish cooking course with «The Great Chef Nando», where we learned how to cook Seafood Paella, Patatas Bravas with Allioli and Sangría. On Wednesday we went with Marta to the ‘The City of Arts and Sciences’, visiting the Science Museum ‘Prince Felipe’. The next day we went to the Old Town, and saw the Silk Exchange Building, with its odd facade. Before we had visited the Town Hall Square and the Building of Communication. It was a pity that we visited the Bullfighting Museum, because we did not like it that much. At Taronja School we are listening to Austrian songs like «Der Komissar» by Falco and «I am from Austria» by Reinhard Fendrich. On Friday we visited the Oceanografic at ‘The City of Arts and Sciences’. Here we saw belugas, jellyfish, sharks and other fish. The dolphin show was very impressive and we liked it a lot. Then we went to our last Spanish class and now we are writing the blog entry.
